Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

This explains what Lagos Life (run by Eliy (eliysites.com)) collects when you play, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what the game needs, we don't sell your personal data, and we don't use ad trackers.

What we collect

  • Your account: username, display name and password. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed); we can't read them.
  • Email (optional): only if you add one, and only to send password-reset links.
  • Your game: your Sim, house, money, jobs, relationships and progress, so your game is there next time.
  • Chats: messages you send to other players, so they can be delivered. Only you and the other player can see them in the game.
  • Where you are in the game (for example, at the beach), so other players can see and meet you.
  • Payments: when you pay, Bachs handles your card or bank details. We never see them; we only keep the payment reference, amount and status.
  • Ads you book: the picture, title and link you upload.
  • Visits: the country and city a visit comes from (worked out by our host, Cloudflare), and your device and browser type. We don't store your IP address.
  • Anonymous gameplay statistics: totals of what happens in the game, such as how many people visited the beach in an hour or which activities are most popular. These counts have no names, usernames or ids attached, so they can't identify you. We use them to improve the game and may share these totals (never chats or personal details) with partners, for example to show brands when Lagos Life is busiest.
  • Notifications: if you turn them on, a delivery address from your browser's push service.

Cookies and storage

  • ll_session (essential): keeps you signed in.
  • ll_vid (optional): counts unique visits for our stats. Only set if you choose "Accept"; "Essential only" turns it off.
  • Your browser also stores your game and settings locally so it loads quickly.

Who helps us run it

  • Cloudflare hosts the game and its database, and sends password-reset emails.
  • Bachs processes payments.
  • Your browser's push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla) delivers notifications, if you turn them on.

They process data only to provide these services. We may share information if the law requires it, or to stop fraud or abuse.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and game while you have an account. Visit stats are kept in summary form. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, game, chats and email, except payment records we must keep by law.

Your rights

Under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 (and similar laws elsewhere), you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, and you can withdraw consent (for example, by choosing "Essential only" or turning notifications off). To do any of these, message @shallyr in Lagos Life.

Age

Lagos Life is for players aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger, and we'll delete it if we find out.

Security and changes

We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords and private chats. No system is perfect; tell us if you spot a problem. We'll update this policy when the game changes and ask you to review important changes.
